Exploring transfers and transformations of knowledge in the design of the silent environment.

About the Project

Silence is rare. Sometimes beautiful, often unsettling, it is a phenomenon that invariably shapes our cultures and lives in different ways. The Spectres & Camouflage project explores the entangled histories of the technological search for the silent environment, a design trajectory that spanned architecture, music, military history and acoustics in the 20th century.
